Help & Manual 5 is a single-source help authoring and technical writing environment for both single and multi-author editing.

In the Professional version you can save your projects directly as plain-text uncompressed XML files in a folder – either on your hard disk or in a version control repository.

This help is designed both as a course in using Help & Manual and as an ongoing reference while you are working with the program.

Getting started – new users

•Study the Introduction and Quick Start Tutorials sections to familiarize yourself with the basics of the program.
•Check out all the links in the Help tab – plenty of help is available!

Getting started – users upgrading from H&M 4

•See the Upgrade FAQ for a quick summary of the major changes and where to find the functions you are looking for.
•Even if you are an experienced Help & Manual user, please run through the Introduction and Quick Start Tutorials sections quickly to get up to speed with what has changed in the latest version of the program.
